orkut Themes

When orkut doesn't borrow features from Facebook, it gets inspired by other Google services. This time, orkut added themes, but not all the users can see the new option. The themes should be familiar, since most of them were created for iGoogle. When you select a theme, only you and your friends can see it in your profile page.

The unofficial Orkut Plus blog has some Greasemonkey scripts that could be used to see the new themes if the feature is not yet enabled in your account. If you notice a link in the header that lets you "change themes", then you have the new feature.

Since iGoogle's themes are really appreciated by users, maybe it makes sense to add themes to all Google services and change them from a central location.

    I found another new feature:

    "Now you can select the countries from which you want to accept friend requests and profile visits. Your profile country is set as your default preference. To add countries, visit privacy settings or change your home country in edit profile."

    i dont still know how to apply it to ma orkut profile. i have installed the theme using the grease monkey.
    some body tell me it in very simple language please becoz i am a medical man and not familiar with things like this.

    These themes work only with Firefox & Greasemonkey Browsers

    Actually, themes are an orkut feature not yet available to everyone. Here's the orkut help page about themes and a blog post from the official blog.

    "We recently began rolling out 12 themes to a percentage of our Indian users, and these themes should be available to all Indian users by the end of this week. We're currently testing this new feature, and if we hear that users like it, we plan to roll it out for everyone on orkut and continue offering more new themes."
