But idealy while working we open a lot applications at the same time. Chrome will not have any limitation on number of tabs but what about the visibility? As the number of tabs increase the visibility of tabs will decrease. Anyway they need to have some solution on this UI factor.Inam Haqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04549104338681355191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-68919047550712298752009-10-16T09:05:02.908-07:002009-10-16T09:05:02.908-07:00MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS CAPABILITIES

With the rise of netbooks, where hardware is pretty standard market-wide, it'll make this much easier (enter Moblin, Jolicloud, Ubuntu NBR), but anytime we want to use ChromeOS on a desktop, game over since the hardware is so diverse.

so i expect it to be marketed similar to Mac OS X. Limited launch on specific computers (like Dell Mini 10v, ASUS 1005ha, etc) that will work out of the box.

But here are some things that I worry about:
Please don't add to the long list of Linux distros. I already have Moblin, Jolicloud, and Ubuntu NBR on my ASUS 1005HA and they do a fine job at being Linux on a netbook.
Please don't make me compile my own drivers for it to work.
Please don't make me open up the terminal daily.
Please don't be a Googlelized Linux distro with WINE and proprietary software included (a-la Linux Mint)
Please don't limit ChromeOS to just work well with your own products (such as not including MSN Messenger, but only gTalk)
Please don't be slow to update like you are for your Google Gears plugin for Firefox. I want to see ChromeOS be compatible with a computer that hasn't been released yet to the public.

Here are some requests:
Please polish the user experience immensely (a-la Jolicloud)
Please make it social networking friendly (a-la Moblin)
Be a step ahead.

Oh, and please don't piggyback off the free open-source hard work of others. If all you want, Google, is to have a good Windows-free alternative with your products built in, why don't you just support and invest in Ubuntu or something similar? I think I understand why you don't, but just be careful and actually set ChromeOS apart from the rest. Perhaps the Linux community could rally around ChromeOS and unify well enough to earn enough respect from hardware vendors for the desktop arena to develop GOOD drivers for them.Davidhttp://www.bernheisel.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-60704976235458880852009-08-16T08:43:48.507-07:002009-08-16T08:43:48.507-07:00I want instant e-mail function built in the OS tha...I want instant e-mail function built in the OS that uses minimum memory.

I have about 5 different email accounts, using pop3 I wanna be able to recieve all of them straigt to the OS without having to use a stupid email program like microsoft outlook.

-----

I also want a gadget that is similar to something Mac Leopard have, where you can mark an area on any website and that area will keep updating continously on your desktop, i.e if I decide to mark a news feed, that small box of news feed will appear on my desktop and keep updating.Ericnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-34896054701925027542009-08-16T05:48:27.552-07:002009-08-16T05:48:27.552-07:00fast boot up 3-5 secondsfast boot up 3-5 secondsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-79358364213334750262009-08-16T04:31:59.884-07:002009-08-16T04:31:59.884-07:00no OS can currently provide instant startup, the c...no OS can currently provide instant startup, the closest to this would be using SSD hard driveweb design and development tipperaryhttp://www.bluestar.ienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-11814351083449719072009-08-15T08:35:09.452-07:002009-08-15T08:35:09.452-07:00Think about how Gmail changed webmail -- I would l...Think about how Gmail changed webmail -- I would like to see Google make that same kind of paradigm shift to the operating system. Privacy is my major concern, specially looking at what Google did with Chrome and the fact that MY data will be stored on Google servers, I want ABSOLUTE control over what can be used for what. And Google should not deny access to services just because I don't want to allow them to use my information for something else that they do not need to provide me the service, e.g. I should not be denied to use it because I do not want to allow Google to use my information to develop new products or share it with third parities. I should be asked for each of these cases separately, or at least be allowed to opt-out, I don't want something that either you agree that they can do whatever they want or you can not use the service. I will be keep watching to see whether Google keeps to be "Do not do evil" company or turn into "Privacy Devil".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-19902077520665027372009-08-11T15:53:04.365-07:002009-08-11T15:53:04.365-07:00Running Windows applications or games under Chrome...Running Windows applications or games under Chrome does not make sense to me. Microsoft wants to produce mainframe software for the desktop. That is why Windows is bloat ware. I say let Microsoft dominate this market. If you try to copy Microsoft, they will crush you. Chrome OS does not need to compete directly against Microsoft.

Chrome OS needs to be small, fast and secure. Web applications can serve the needs for 90% of consumers and 50% of business users. With large acceptance, software companies will port there product to Chrome OS, just as they have with the Mac. Better yet, they will port their software to Java.

If Chrome is free, Linux based and Open Source, you will have 4 billion people in the developing world willing to support it.

I can see the day that 80% of PC will have Chrome OS.
