I spend most of my time in developing countries. Have you travelled anywhere else? Do you know that most of Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia are years ahead of the US in terms of connectivity and speed. Even a rural bus in Peru had WiFi access, while an Amtrak train I caught to New York hadn't even worked it out yet. Many restaurants in Argentina have WiFi, while in New York you have to go to selected cafes. Are they serious about bringing them back with HTML5? Docs and Reader have been without offline for a long time, and I'm really sad that now I'll have to live without offline Gmail. In places with slow and unreliable internet (i.e. most of the world outside the US), offline services are essential. It sounds like Chrome 12 is going to be a downgrade for me...
