Sure I understand they've built out the browser, something I've wondered for years why someone didn't do such as Mozilla, MS or Apple, allowing more powerful web apps.
When will the point come when it's enough of it's own OS that MS could legally refuse to run it on Windows? I wonder what the legal aspects of that whole area are at this point in time.
The Windows monopoly is already been marginalized by Google, Apple with iTunes for Windows that allowed the explosion of ipods and iphones, imagine if MS could stop Apple from running itunes on Windows.
hmmmm. Just food for thought. I think we are still a ways off from a full blown bootable web OS that is adopted widely. The web is the future, but until it can be transformed away from HTML it will always be clunky.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12860576250454990865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-38788161396314218612009-10-05T16:30:13.699-07:002009-10-05T16:30:13.699-07:00Chrom - very good!Chrom - very good!weaponscreatorhttp://www.weaponscreator.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-30695784187751744872009-10-05T16:28:47.165-07:002009-10-05T16:28:47.165-07:00I like this browser!I like this browser!prochesnokhttp://www.prochesnok.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-48815798777062547342009-09-04T04:40:23.521-07:002009-09-04T04:40:23.521-07:00chrome is better

Mac's problem is that, while they have a superior OS vs Windows, they require in their EULA and coding that you have to have an Apple branded *PC* to install (Mac = PC despite their millions in advertising). If they would make Mac OS X available for IBM clones (what we called computers running windows that werent IBM back in the early 90s), then they would have a much larger market share. Linux's problem is the lack of universal support. You but video card X.17 and run Linux 1.23.4 but can only find a driver for card X.16 on Linux 1.23.3 and so you have artifacts whenever you run graphics programs (Linux and video card versions for example purposes only).
All Google needs to do to THRIVE (something Apple and Linux havent been able to do) is provide a Windows/Mac like OS with readily available, universal driver support, at a reasonable (hopefully free) price.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-81054103940354975352009-07-21T08:15:38.196-07:002009-07-21T08:15:38.196-07:00I ´m a very happy user, especially the tabs as sep...I ´m a very happy user, especially the tabs as seperate sandboxesLizhttp://chromespot.com/blog/2009/07/19/is-chrome-good-for-freedom/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-67469414810897662052009-07-20T19:44:57.273-07:002009-07-20T19:44:57.273-07:00Chrome OS will not make a dent in Windows 7, this ...Chrome OS will not make a dent in Windows 7, this coming from a hardcore Google Chrome browser fan. It'll eat up the smaller markets like Red Hat, Ubuntu and even Apple Mac. Maybe in the long run Chrome OS might make a dent in MS but not in the short term. A computer is capable of so much more than just web and web-based applications. Both Google and Microsoft have lost touch with what people really want; and they wonder why XP remains the most popular operating system. They don't want anything new and exciting. People want an OS that will run their local applications FAST with little overhead and no eyecandy bull**** to hide its downfalls. It's so pretty I almost forgot it doesn't do anything XP couldn't do.

Finally, if Microsoft (and now Google) keep on making new operating systems, new development libraries, etc, it just makes everything really confusing for developers. After .NET was released I gave up on programming because I refused to learn an entire new programming language, again. There's already a s**tpile of them, and now with the newer OS's there's going to be more.

Users want simple. They want fast. They want to keep their XP.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18157064.post-24985838170679052862009-07-14T16:36:02.033-07:002009-07-14T16:36:02.033-07:00Sun Microsystem used to say, Network is the comput...Sun Microsystem used to say, Network is the computer. Now Google is saying Browser is the OS. Both statements are actually what each company wanted or want to achieve for its own sole benefit. Google being primarily a search engine company wants it but do people want it ? At least not yet. How the heck will this cloud computing OS/browser will handle device drivers ? How long will it take really to port existing apps to run in cloud ?
