Why download YouTube videos when it's so easy to upload videos? Now you can drag and drop multiple videos on YouTube's upload page instead of using the operating system's file open dialog. The new feature requires a recent version of Google Chrome and Firefox because it uses HTML5 APIs.
Two other Google services that support drag and drop uploading are Gmail and Google Docs, but other services will probably follow suit.

Excellent feature for frequent YouTube uploaders. I have Google Chrome 9.0.597.45 beta but this feature doesn't work. Also, in Firefox 4 beta 8 version, this doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteIt works in the latest stable versions of Firefox and Chrome, so I don't see why it wouldn't work in Firefox 4 beta and Chrome 9 beta. Do you see the message "drag and drop videos anywhere on this page"?
ReplyDeleteThought it looked familiar. I've been using this feature with Google Docs for a bit now.
ReplyDelete@cgull: I'm on Chrome beta [9.0.597.45] and I'm getting the drag and drop feature on YouTube's upload page.
ReplyDeleteExcellent feature to finally incorporate into YouTube. I expect this is going to be a huge time saver for myself and many others.
ReplyDeleteHow does this mesh with the news today that Google Chrome is dropping HTML5?
ReplyDeleteDigitalclips, you're confused.
ReplyDeleteI thought this feature was pretty nice in Gmail. It should make locating the video you want to upload faster.
ReplyDeleteWell it is a nice feature.Great job Youtube.
ReplyDeleteI really like this feature! You failed to mention it works in Safari too.
ReplyDeletesome time safari work better then others browser but its happed some times not every times ... :)
ReplyDeletei don't know that much about any programming or html5 thing, but i do notice uploading to YouTube is a hard task for me,
ReplyDeleteyes, the method and time to upload for certain people is easy , but for me it just take to much time, maybe because my connection..
can Google do something like background uploading whereby we can just put some video in some folder in our desktop and then let YouTube upload it silently/on background each time we are connected in the internet... that would be awesome....
