I discovered it by accident: I was logged into Google+ with my Google Account and into my Google Apps account as secondary, with multiple sign-on. For some reason Google decided to log me off all my Google accounts. At that point, I made the initial login with my Google Apps account and secondary with my Google Account. I was unaware that Google+ was open on another tab. I tried to reshare something publicly, and was confused that it was saying Paralaus where it should be saying Public. Picking that options told me that only "People on Paralaus can find and view" my post. It was then that I realized I was able to use Google+ with my Google Apps account in a hybrid mode where I was not fully logged in but some elements were available; almost as a preview.
Right now, there's no support for Buzz or Profiles in Google Apps, but that should change in the near future. Google's John Costigan confirmed this: "We're actively working on making Profiles (and Google+) available for Google Apps - it should be available in the coming months."
Google+ is a very important project for Google, so it will improve rapidly and it will no longer require invitations. Some speculate that Google+ will be available for everyone at the end of the month.

ReplyDeleteSadly, we've heard this before and it was a lie - Buzz and Profiles were both promised in Google blogs to be coming "in a few weeks". A year later, we're still waiting.
Googles paying customers will be the last to get access to Google+ (if they ever do).
Also, if Blogger's going to become part of plus, I really hope that they get this profiles situation fixed before then so that I can continue to post to my blog.

ReplyDeleteBuzz didn't make enough buzz to actually get ported to Google Apps. Anyways it wasn't actually worth as a business model.
Google profile too, many were skeptical to even actually create their profile.
But Google+ changes everything, it would be a great company network. And the combination of social and professional should be well tied off in Google+.
As mentioned above the previous apps perhaps werent big enough to warrant adding them to google apps but now that google is really pushing google+ they have no other choice imo.

ReplyDeleteYou know you can just make a gmail account right? Just because you have a google apps account doesn't mean that's the email you have to use everywhere.

ReplyDelete...and WAITING. Google really fracked this one up. The simple solution would be to let google apps administrators opt in if they want. That would make all of us single-person-personal-domain users of google apps happy, while causing no trouble for corp google apps customers. Make it so NOW Google!
