Blogger in Draft (a pre-release version of Blogger) added
an interesting widget that lets you display the latest posts from your favorite blogs. It's an enhanced blogroll that displays the recently updated blogs and snippets from the most recent posts.
You can manually add the blogs by entering their URLs or you can select from your Google Reader subscriptions. To add the widget to a Blogger blog, you need to go to
Blogger in Draft, click on the Layout section corresponding to the blog and add the "Blog List" page element. You can't add the widget for blogs that still use the classic templates, like this blog.
Google Reader already lets you
create a blogroll from any public tag, but Blogger's widget is more customizable.

In
other Blogger-related news, the comment page make it more obvious that you can sign in using an OpenID and Blogger enabled pagination for posts with more than 200 comments.

I like the new blog-roll system, but the rename feature doesn't work yet and I think it could be made more attractive. Thanks for the heads-up, its a great page element.

Dear Alex
do you know how can I add a blogroll like this gadget to my site?
I mean I want a list of blogs (like a folder in my Google Reader) but sorted by last update, not alphabetical (which is only current GReader offer)
Regards
Behrang

Is it possible to categorize blog lists in the blog roll? How?

Blogger does not let you customize the blog template with either scrolling or cascading rolls if you do not want all of the blogs to appear on your page at once.

That good that Blogspot is providing new features to its blogger. Well I using blogpico.com and I think they provide lots of feature to their blogger. I will request them to add above feature on my blog.

It's great to see Google adding features that are easy to use. However, we still need more widgets Google!

Hello.
Thankful if somebody can answer please. My question is: I see that I can also click a request for snippet of most recent item ( a mini photo of the latest post of the blog I link to. Do I have to ask the permission of the blogger for this ( that their photo is shown in my blogroll) ? What is the correct way?
Thank you in advance for the answer.
@Anonymous:
No, it's fair use.

Hi everyone, I have this question that I've been googling for the past couple days but can't seem to find an answer.
I exchanged links with a friend and his link shows up in my blog roll fine. (With title and a picture of the latest posting) However, on his blog roll, my latest image doesn't show up...just the names of the latest images. I'm wondering if this has to to with Feedburner? Am I missing something?
BTW, about half of my friend's link do show images and the other half do not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Is there a way to copy the Blog List code and paste it directly into the post (post body) ?
I have tried it and basically its possible BUT: The problem is the bloglist shows the same content for ever. Its not beeing refreshed.
Any Ideas?
