Blogger Static Pages

Blogger in Draft, Blogger's version that includes experimental features, added a frequently-requested feature: static pages. "Blogger Pages lets you to publish static information on stand-alone pages linked from your blog. For example, you can use Pages to create an About This Blog page that discusses the evolution of your blog, or a Contact Me page that provides directions, a phone number, and a map to your location."

You can create up to 10 static pages and they're automatically added to the blog's sidebar. Blogger uses the same editor for editing posts and pages, but pages have a different URL format and they're displayed in a separate list.

I tried to create a static page for this blog, but it uses a custom template and I couldn't find the "Edit Pages" section. Even when I manually entered the URL: http://draft.blogger.com/pages.g?blogID=<BLOG_ID> and tried to create a page, Blogger returned an error message and couldn't create the page.

  1. i added a few pages to mine.

    a couple of issues:

    1. i placed the pagesgadget under my header but it still listed vertically instead of horizontally ... so i made my own horizontal links instead.

    2. i want to simplify my sidebars and would like to add gadgets to the body of the pages.

These things could be done by inserting CSS code to your template. You can search on the web for more information.

  11. Great feature! How did you find out about this? I never knew there was a "draft" Blogger. It's the feature I've been really looking for since I'm an old Geocities user. I tried using it. It's fairly easy although you'd have to go back to draft.blogger to add new pages. You can edit it in the live Blogger in Layout but you can't add new pages.

Again, this is a great find!

  13. @Raji Muthukumar, If you want to show only one post,
You must enter to the Blogger Config - Design...
Then click in Edit in the Bottom at the Section Post...
Now there you can select the number of post you want to show...
Finaly, I recommed use your link with a Widget of Blogger about Recent Post to your Sidebar that is very Useful.

    I hope I helped | Visit My blog - http://bit.ly/5SZ0NO
