Google Talk Gadget Adds Multi-User Chats
Google Talk Gadget added support group chat. Just click on the "Group Chat" button when you are in a conversation, and you can invite other people to join your discussion. Unfortunately, this feature is not available in any other client, so if you invite someone who uses Google Talk for Windows, Gmail Chat or other Jabber client, he'll get a link to the web version of Google Talk.
The Windows client seems to be neglected this year, but I bet we'll see a major new release in the coming weeks that will add all the new features from the web version, phone calls and more.

ReplyDeleteWith so many features coming.. they won't work on kopete, iChat etc..., we need mac and linux clients too, aqnd not only of this software, but every soft google releases.
ReplyDeleteGoogle, buy apple yet, your so slowly on everything.
I would like to see a major update to the Windows client, too, but please-oh-please, no smileys!
ReplyDeletehmm i guess its a bad idea to let the client "say" for you and show a link...
ReplyDeletesoon or late there will be viruses doing the same and users may click on the link... :(
Good point, Lucas, but this must be a temporary hack until they release a new version of Google Talk.
ReplyDeleteIonut, did you use that screenshot from the one you sent me at 11:?? today?
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to desktop version? And when we'll see a native Linux version. On Windows all that bugs should be fixed at least. Tabs are really wanted too :)
ReplyDeleteI really hope Google continues to release desktop applications and doesn't just merge all of its applications to the online web browser realm.
ReplyDeleteSo wait, we can actually chat with multiple users? That's ingenious! Whoever came up with the idea of speaking with more than one person at a time should be given an award for ingenuity!
