YouTube launched a mobile interface available at
m.youtube.com. To use it, you need a mobile phone that plays streaming videos (RTSP/3GP with H263/AMR) and an unlimited data plan because "YouTube Mobile is a data intensive application". Most 3G phones support 3GP, but you can also play these files on your computer if you have a player like
MPlayer,
VLC, RealPlayer or Quicktime.
Only a small part of YouTube's videos are available in the mobile version and that includes short videos that were recently uploaded or popular. There are also three special categories: people, entertainment and "grab bag" and a search box that lets you find videos.

I cannot play any streaming videos on my treo 650. Do you know of any players supported on treo?
Hmm...could this solve the problem of playing YouTube on the Wii? It's always off/on whether it works or not. I'll have to test it out sometime.
It doesn't work on my phone's TCPMP.
Sound doesn't seem to be working on VLC :-S It doesn't work at all on QuickTime.
Yes, VLC doesn't support AMR (3GP sound) because of licensing incompatibilities. This can be fixed if you compile VLC/FFMPEG and change some lines of code.

Doesn't work on Windows Mobile 5.
Windows Media Player 10 starts up OK but fails to play the video.

Works for me but disappointed with the number of vids available. Other services like mywaves seem to have a lot more.

The free
HTC Streaming Media player should work on Windows Mobile 6 devices for RSTP/3GP streams.

myzenplanet has a better solution. Its client not only accesses and streams all youtube videos, but it also streams videos from metacafe, ifilm, mtv, vh1, etc. The client also handles photo sites too! go to their website to download the client. http://www.myzenplanet.com

Is the Mobile YouTube any different then the YouTube section in V CAST videos? It kinda sounds like it, at least on my plan V CAST is a per-viewed charge, and most of the things like the YouTube section are free, but it charges minutes for data, so it'd be kinda pointless to go to mobile youtube on the browser. I'll be on my nighttime minutes coming up in a few and I'll have to browse it then and see what the difference is, V CAST has been doing You Tube as long as I've had V CAST tho.

I tried the m.youtube.com it wont play the videos off the site, which is weird because I know my phone uses H263 codec, that's what I encode the videos in to put on it. It was a lot of the same videos as on the V CAST tho, just a bigger selection.
