iPhone App for Blogger

Blogger has an app for iPhone and it's better than the corresponding Android app, which has improved a lot in the past months. Both apps let you edit your existing posts and create new posts, add images to your posts, include labels and geolocate your posts.

They're pretty basic, but the iPhone app has a better interface, it's easier to use and pays attention to detail. For example, the iPhone app includes the URL of the blog next to the name when you switch to a different blog, so that it's easier to identify a blog. The Android app only shows the names. To publish a post in the iPhone app, you need to tap the "Publish" button, which is always displayed at the top of the screen. In the Android app you need to scroll to the bottom of the post to find the "publish" button.

"With the Blogger app, you can write a new blog post and publish it immediately or save it as a draft right from your iOS device. You can also open a blog post you've been working on from your computer and continue editing it while you're on-the-go. Your blog posts are automatically synced across devices, so you’ll always have access to the latest version," informs Google.

  3. I don't wish to seem ungrateful about a free app, but after spending all that time making sure it can synchronise posts between "all" your iOS devices, they forgot to make it an iPad app (hint: it has a bigger screen)...

  5. Still suffers from Google's ludicrous idea that your IP address determines your language. After installing on my English-language iPhone and signing in with my English-language Google account, the T&C page appears in French (I'm in France right now). The Settings page gives a 404.

    1. I found the problem. Blogger uploads pictures to your picasa account. When your picasa account storage is full it wont let you upload anymore pictures. Clear out your picasa account or buy more storage and you will be fine.

    2. I'm glad I found this! I'm having the same problem. If I delete from Picasa they'll be removed from the blog though won't they? Also, I was able to post pics from my computer today so I'm not sure that's my problem

  26. I have the 'insufficient storage quota' problem too! You said when our Picasa account storage is full, it won't let us upload anymore pictures, but why we can upload it using lap top?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have the same "insufficient storage quota" showing when I attempt to publish. And it won't save it, either. Further, I have three blogs, two of which allow endless pictures (or so it seems) and my original one which says Picasa is full -- when accessed online.

  28. I'm getting the same problem. Okay whe usin my laptop but only when using the blogger app that prompts this random error message. I think it's blogger app and Picasso not connecting some how.

  29. But I don't even have a picasa account! When i go to picasa, it gives me the option of downloading, because I don't have it, But I am still getting the insufficient storage quota.... ugh.... bothering me...

  33. Hasn't anyone solved this problem yet, it's been like this for months now..?
I've rebooted my phone - didn't work, installed five different blog apps - didn't work either.
I CAN publish pics via the computer, but NOT via the cell phone, so the Picasa-issue doesn't seen to be the problem.

Pls, can someone help out with this, or should I be forced to move my blog to a new blog place? Don't want that, I LIKE Blogger.. :(

  34. Upload your photo to a pic host like photobucket or whatever and then copy and paste the HTML code the host generates, it will show up

    1. I found out that the problem IS Picasa. My account was full (1023 of 1024 MB) and when I cleared out some old pics I was able to post and send pics from my old ordinary blog app again.

The "problem" is that I don't want to pay for more space at Picasa and I don't want to remove my pics from the blogg.. so your suggestion is problably the best solution..

  35. my app won't let me access my photos... one time without thinking the question popped up if i wanted my blogger app to access my camera and i usually click "don't allow" so i accidentally hit don't allow, and now i can reverse it!!!! HELP!!!! How can i let it have access to my photos so i can put pictures back on my blog?!

  36. Wow this really sucks the only way for me to really enjoy blogging is through my phone. I like uploading the pics from my camera without having to plug it into my laptop. Ugh! It has to be the pictures because I turned off my phone and deleted and re added the blogger app and the post wouldn't publish unless there was no picture attach. The blog is like my therapy so I am very upset!!
