YouTube now tests the header that's already displayed in Google Search, Gmail, Google Docs and many other Google services. The header shows your Google+ notifications, a box that lets you share videos with other Google+ users and links related to your Google profile.
Right now, the Google+ header is only displayed if you haven't created a YouTube account and you log in using your Google account (so you don't have a YouTube username and channel). Obviously, you need to join Google+ to see the new features.

ReplyDeleteI've mentioned in the last paragraph that, at least for now, this only works for Google accounts that don't have a YouTube username/channel. If you have a Google account that doesn't have an associated a YouTube account, it should work (you also need to join Google+).
I just closed my Youtube account to get the new interface. It worked perfectly. Note that few features requires to create a personal Channel but it will soon be unnecessary (I'll wait): http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1626189
