Short URL for Classic Google Maps

Update (June 25, 2015): Classic Google Maps is no longer available.

Now that Google Maps for desktop redirects to the new interface, I tried to find a URL for the classic version. Last year, I found: www.google.com/local, then www.google.com/lochp, https://www.google.com/maps?output=class, https://www.google.com/maps/mms, but they no longer work.

Of course, you can also go to Google Maps, click the help icon at the bottom of the page and then click "return to classic Google Maps" twice. Google includes some reasons why you would prefer the old version: map is covered by boxes, too slow, missing features, map display issues.

  1. I suggest a sort of DDoS. Everybody should continually pull all of the aforementioned URLs countless times in order to flood Google’s web-logs with them, demonstrating clearly that people want to use the old Google Maps, not the horrible, useless new one.

  2. Yeah, FlowerPower is right. What do we do now? Any suggestions for other map websites? It was the street view that made google so useful before they screwed it up.
