Disable animated GIFs

Firefox:
go to about:config
set image.animation_mode to none

Opera:
press F12
unselect Enable GIF animation

Internet Explorer:
go to Internet Options < Advanced < Multimedia
unselect Play animations in web pages

  3. This really helps speed things up when you're connected via Remote Desktop. Users might also want to install a tool to disable Flash to help with other banners.
