Google Docs Integrates with Google Search

After using the PDF viewer from Google Docs for previewing PDF search results, Google started to enhance the cached version of XLS results with links to Google Docs. If you search for Excel files and click on "view as HTML" next to one of the results, you'll see three new options: a download link, a link to the HTML version and an option to edit the spreadsheet online using Google Docs.

I also found a quick way to view an Excel file in Google Docs:
(replace URL_OF_THE_XLS_FILE with the actual URL)

  1. Nice catch. I'm not sure why Google is so slow in documenting this and possibly dozens of other emergent uses of their systems.

  2. Editing Google Documents (excel files) online has been really slow for me. Anyone else having any issues?

Haven't tried yet, but can I edit google docs offline?

  3. This is really good stuff, cheers!

Anonymous: yes there's an offline mode for Google Docs available. Just click on a link called 'offline' in the upper right corner to install it.

  4. it working.............fine.can u give me the code simlar to this one for
    reading .doc file.
