If you forgot your Windows password and you don't want to reset it, you have a new option: Ophcrack LiveCD, a Windows password cracker that claims to be able to crack 99.9% of alphanumeric passwords in seconds. Ophcrack is based on a time-memory trade-off using rainbow tables, some precalculated data stored in memory. A rainbow table is a lookup table that is constructed by placing a plaintext password entry in a chain of keys and ciphertexts, generated by a one-way hash (a function that is easy to calculate but hard to invert). The end result is a table that contains statistically high chance of revealing a password within a short period of time, generally less than a minute.
Minimum amount of RAM required: 256MB.
Recommended amount of RAM: 512MB.

I know the title might sound dumb, if you think that using this method you can retrieve the password for any user account in a system, but I wanted to see this as a solution for a common problem, and not as a way to break into a computer.
ReplyDeletethere are better ways to crack windows password even without booting into one. :))
ReplyDeleteyo anonymous what other ways to crack windows password when your limited account and cant download squat. i cant see to remeber the admn. password and now what I do do I dont what to reinstall xp so...any tips ?
ReplyDeleteYahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, AOL or any other email password We HACK, CRACK just about anyone's for an affordable sum
ReplyDeleteAttempting to crack passwords by trying as many possibilities as time and money permit, there are several programs available for password auditing and recovery some of which use password design vulnerabilities (as in the Microsoft LAN Manager system) to increase efficiency. Some are useful to system administrators as any password which can be found using one of these programs is most definitely a weak password and should be rejected as an unacceptable password choice.
“According to sources, the most commonly used password is password1”
The prices start from $ 150 USD per account depending upon the account.

I have the password, but maybe not the correct username. It shows one in the screen and I type the password, but it does not let me get in. It is a company laptop that does not have CD reader or diskette unit. It has like an USB port (but I do not have an USB CD reader) and some other small connectors.
ReplyDeleteThe problem happened when I decided to change something with the user accounts, but I do not remember what. I do not think the password, maybe the name of the computer. The next time it boot up it did not let me get in.
Any solutions?
What about the Toshiba bias passwords?
ReplyDeleteI was just opening my Toshiba Qosmio, and I realized a short term memory wipe had made me forget my password. I shrugged it off, and said that I'd just try again later.
But when I tried later, it didn't budge. >.<
OphCrack apparently isn't working on this.
Help, please?
In your computer there is a battery remove that battery then put it back in resets your bias password....When doing this make sure to un-plug your computer first.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
ReplyDeleteit not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.
NOT WORKING! NOT WORKING!

i want to be able to do this without other people knowing that i have done
ReplyDeletei tested this on a virtual machine because i didnt trust it and their was a message saying something like fatal error or something
ReplyDeleteThere are better and quicker ways to do this. Cracking is often unsuccessful and you have to pay big money for "rainbow" tables to make it quicker and to be able to crack anything other than basic passwords.
ReplyDeleteThe best way is to remove the password, but the only downside is if you have files encrypted natively with Windows (they become inaccessible after that)
When I use it it says "not found" any help?
ReplyDeleteIt always says not found. it never finds anything. pretty useless.
ReplyDeleteYou can reset a lost or forgot Windows password with 4 methods below:
ReplyDelete1. Another valid administrator account which can normally log on.
2. A password reset disk or a repair disc, which is created in advance ( before you lost password ).
3. Third-party software to create a bootable password reset CD/DVD or USB, like Windows Password Reset Tool - http://www.windowspasswordreset.net .
4. Re-install. Will lose data.
It's simple
ReplyDeletego to run then type "cmd"
then type "net user" and enter
then click the account you need to reset the password.
then you can change its password or leave it blank.....simple :PPP
