Google Image Search Refining Experiment

Cameron Beyer spotted a Google Image Search experiment that shows suggestions next to some of the search results. When searching for "flower", Google displayed suggestions like "rose flower", "yellow flower", "murakami" next to some of the images.

This seems to be a quick and dirty to refine search results until the similar images experiment from Google Labs is integrated in Google Image Search.

{ Thanks, Cameron. }

  1. I don't know about you, but by me in NY it doesn't seem to appear any suggestions.

  2. I'm guessing they are simply showing keywords from metadata like the anchor link and the img alt attribute, maybe some text around the img that might be captions. So it seems more like a small incremental improvement, rather than anything radical, like object recognition.
