The display and navigation is much better than the alternative Gmail Mobile in the browser - m.gmail.com
does anyone know the size of the application?

The answer is 112KB. Here's the

It works on my E70, but its not really designed well for landscape mode as the labels for what the buttons do (eg menu, exit etc) are not rotated meaning that one of the labels is not next to a button and the other one is next to the wrong button.
Otherwise works well. Thanks!

the application does not work on the Samsung SGH-D600E. please could you guys addapt it so that it works. thanx for the awsum service.
does not work properly on my Samsung SGH-X700 (java MIDP 2.0). the installation worked successfully, but when I tried to send HTTP information then my phone suddenly restarted. it happened all the time. :(
by the way, it such a very nice application!!
i've been there Mr. Alex, and i think samsung sgh x700 does not allow to check Gmail Verisign Class 3 public certificate. is there any chance Gmail only send HTTP information (not HTTPS)?
Google says these are the requirements:
* Your Gmail language preference needs to be set to English (US).
* You must be using a J2ME (Java) MIDP2 device.
* You'll need a mobile data plan, and your phone needs to be configured for data access.
* Your phone needs the Verisign Class 3 public certificate with serial number 70:BA:E4:1D:10:D9:29:34:B6:38:CA:7B:03:CC:BA:BF.
Note: Not all phones allow you to check for this certificate.
Regarding https, the Gmail application requires a secure connection in order to connect to the Gmail server. Try to see if the mobile Gmail homepage http://m.gmail.com works for you.

Application starts, lets me input username and password, and then shows this strange error about some certificate. It does ask about sending data in https when singing in too (on X820 it dosn't). To install Gmail's mobile application, just go to

I've tried using it on a Samsung E380. Phone lets me install and start successfully, connects to the internet and then reboots. I suppose this has to do with the missing security certificate? Strange though, cause the version I downloaded was explicitly for Samsung phones. I guess Gmail will have to fix this on their part, don't think my phone is broken. m.gmail.com will have to work for now.

Internet access : Ask Once

Automatic start: Ask Once
Local Connectivity : Ask once
Multimedia : Always Ask
Read User Data : Always ask
Write User data : Always ask
Note: These are NOT the default settings. I have changed a few during my R&D :)

Use the Internet GPRS profile for Java apps.
Menu > Settings > Connectivity tab > Settings for Java > select a profile that contains Internet. If you can't find one, edit the active profile and choose HTTP instead of WAP in the Internet mode.

If you have the latest blackberry, you wouldn;t need it. The Curve uses a PUSH system that will deliver the mail directly to your phone (it will direct it to a folder). All you have to do on your BB is set-up an internet email, type in your email and password as you would go into gmail, and BB creates a folder of your email address.
You will instantly receive emails.
I had to create a gmail account because Hotmail doesn't deliver mail to my blackberry. Hotmail Sucks because of it's limitations!

Hi, I have been trying to install the GMail application on my N95 8GB, I download it from the official page(http://www.gmail.com/app) using my phone´s web browser, but when I start the installation process I revive the following warning message:
Application is Untrusted and may be Harmful to your phone...
Then I click on view details, and I received the following message;
When you install an application the security of the application is checked during the installation. Your device can not verify the supplier of the application unless it has a digital signature or Certificate. Continue installation only if you are sure of the origin and contents of the application.
Well, since I am downloading it from the official Google site, then I think it is a trustable application, but I aborted the installation since it can not verify neither a digital signature or its certificate...
Is the Gmail Mobile application not signed by Google?
Have any of you had the same problem? Ant tips? Thanks. Tom
Are there plans to develop this application for other Smartphones and Pocket PC (with phone)?

I managed to download it directly from http://gmail.com/app/v1.5.0.1193/L1/gmail-g.jar but it is not as good as it was before (ex: I have to enter mail direction and password always, and the bottom bar is not blue as it was but black).
