Suggestions for Google Services

Most Google services have feedback forms where you can suggest new features or improvements, but some of them even list frequent suggestions and let you vote your favorites. The lists also give you hints about the future updates.

  1. I went on to the Google one and voted "Change the Label system to Folders". You guys are all screwed! Hahahahaha! :-)

  2. I meant "the Gmail one" above. They're all Google. Kind of takes away from my joke.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Actually Labels are a superset of Folders in a number of respects (Guess what: folders are a figment of your imagination).

All they would have to do is allow drag and drop of messages into that list of Label names as a quick one-step way to both assign labels and archive a message at the same time and all the Folders addicts would be totally fooled. I put in this suggestion months ago. It's so obvious I can't think why they haven't done it...except for the fact that I think drag and drop functionality causes more browser compatibility issues.

With the exception of backups you should NEVER want to have more than one copy of important files in your filing system. Hopefully more users will start to "get" this. It's an education issue. (But I grant that Google is doing too little on the education front).

  4. My suggestion is for Google Earth. I want to write with rich text for placemarks.

  5. Another suggestion for Google in General, a memory space online that we manage with folders. This will be very useful for different s Google applications. For example to put a photo or video in Google Maps, or to use in Page Creator etc..

  6. ... There are two groups of people in the world... those that will change code, and those who won't...
... It would be a great thing if there were a "one click" counter option for Blogger...
    ... Many thanks

  7. Ok. Deep breath before everyone shouts at me for giving in to 'big brother' and giving my soul away to google - but I think it would actually be quite handy if Google launched a "Google Cookie Jar" - so that just like bookmarks I could have Cookies that I wanted/agreed to having, go to one central location that could be accessed from different PCs I use.

  8. Interesting to see "IMAP Access" listed as a suggestion for Gmail. I thought that was more or less impossible with the label-based system. I would be very, very happy if that could happen. As amazing as Gmail's web interface is, I'd like to sync my mail client with Gmail for offline access to my entire Gmail archive.

And as long as it's been since any meaningful enhancement to Calendar, at least some of these glaring omissions are on their radar (lack of notification options on secondary calendars, for one).

    ReplyDelete
  9. instead of the cookie jar you could try google browser sync and sync cookies

    ReplyDelete
  10. I want multi user chat in google talk.It will make all the friends feel together.Something like conversation as in MSN messenger.

    ReplyDelete
  11. i think, serivce, like PIM sync (contacts, tasks, notes and cal) ...must sync with phone and mobile device over air

  12. It would be really cool if the google toolbar could come up as a java app. That way when I sign in from anywhere to my google account I have the google bar without having to download it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I have a suggestion for Google. I think Google should give each primary candidate 10 minutes on youtube to present their case as to why they should be elected and advertise this at their front page search. This would be wonderful PR for Google as a "non evil company" and would be highly democratic.

    ReplyDelete
  14. you people amaze me

    ReplyDelete
  15. I would like to have a free Google File Storage. It doesn't have to be somthing different, it just could be an adin for gmail.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think Google should consider streamlining the "flagged" content across all of their apps. Then, theoretically, if you run a search in Gmail, it would pull up results in all of the areas of the google servers you're connected to.

Often I have work documents in Google wordprocessing that would be much simpler if I was able to run a search all the way across my google groups, gmail, and docs.

  17. Hi i'm from Italy, Veneto... into google maps my town "Farra di Soligo" isn't included...

    ReplyDelete
  18. Recently I have found Google maps has been less and less useful.

When you use the print link, you lose the overall map. When you print the main map page, the highlighted route doesn't print.

It always bothered me that you can't right-click the image and copy it to an Outlook Contact note field. I guess that's a drawback of the AJAX interface.

The new nodes where you can re-route are extremely helpful, though.

  19. google is the one of the top brand now in the world. but i'm really confused abt there marketing strategy. i didnt find any idea about there marketing strategy. but i think to retain there brand equity they should go for new marketing strategy with different tools. like they should create slogan, promotion, some atl activities. actually its just a suggession from a very small marketing person :). actually i love google.

  20. Would it be possible to get pronunciations when searching a definition (define:xxx).

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like how Google maps now lets you customize your route when you get directions, but why can't you save them to My Maps after you customize them?

  22. I write to correct a information in "Goggle Earth" software about the frontier between Chile and Argentina. The town is “Villa O´Higgins”, name dedicated to the hero of country of Chile, then belong to Chile not Argentina. This town is located in 48" 28'03.59" S 72"33'35.98" W. I would be very thanksfully if you corrected this mistake.
    With kind regards,

    milodon, chilean.

  23. I would like to request that Facebook be made available to have on my iGoogle page??

    ReplyDelete
  24. My suggestion is for Google Reader. I couldn't find where to make the suggestion within Google Reader itself, so I'm posting it here.

My suggestion is to provide a setting to remove duplicate items across feeds, such that an item only shows up in one of the feeds.

This would be useful for feeds such as the java.net feeds. For example, I want to be able to put podcast notifications in one Google Reader feed, and articles in another (I have separate folders for podcasts and feeds). However, the java.net article feed includes the podcasts as well, so I end up getting the podcast feed twice.

I would like to be able to set a preference to remove duplicate items.

The URLs for the feeds mentioned are:

    http://www.java.net/pub/q/articles
    http://www.java.net/pub/ct/javaonecommunitycorner

    Cheers

  26. personally, I think that google should come out with something to rival Microsoft Live's "Skydrive". It's really useful, and if done the google way would be as helpful as Google Docs and Calendar.
    http://skydrive.live.com/?lc=1033

Maybe a bit more storage though...500mb is nothing

  27. I actually have a suggestion for a new program. It would be awesome if they would come up with a program or if it is too big a task multiple ones for different languages so that when you visit a site in another language like japanese (for example Amazon japan) that it translates it for your computer so that you can read it. And translate emails and stuff so that you can talk to others and bridge the language gap. That would be really cool.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Google maps is a great source when travel planning. How about having an option for obtaining directions for "walking routes" IE: I wanted to know the distance from a particular hotel to the Sydney Waterfront. It would only give driving directions that went well out of the way because of 1-way streets. Walking routes in cities would be great!!!

  29. this is for gmail. an application next to each mail to make notes. sometimes we want to do something about the mail or something in the mail later, it's not just an appointment but something to do on it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Google should provide a search for databases such as Oracle, SQl, etc.

User types in a search value and Google displays all the objects, attributes and values matching the searchvalue.

This search can be a part of tools such as SQL Query analyser.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think Google should develop their own DNS system, or purchase one like OpenDNS.

This service would allow them to provide a superior DNS service for their customers world-wide, with advanced facilities like OpenDNS - such as adult content filtering, keywords, spelling correction, and so on.

The benefit to Google would be that they could add this nslookup information to the information they track about us (I know... big brother and all that), enabling them to better target ads, etc.

  32. Hi to all Dear Googleians,

  34. Google finance suggestion:
on selection of a stock symbol the display should be able to show the min / max for the duration selected instead of the 52wk high / low values.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Suggestions for Google Maps:
After getting directions for a location in Google Maps... there should be a place to save the location with a Specific Name (ex. "Mechanic or Doctor's Office") for future quick references. This could be added back into contacts.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Since today I've been using Blackle instead google, but I think that Blackle should have all the things that google has, like the key "I'm feeling lucky" or advanced options (scholar google and others)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Can Google Maps take account of historical traffic reports when giving directions? E.g. "how long does it take to drive from X to Y _at 5pm on a Saturday_?" Can it choose the best route based not just on the endpoints but on the day-of-week/time-of-day, based on historical traffic data?

    ReplyDelete
  38. A suggestion for a project for google scholar:

    1) create a format for journal articles where all references (embedded and citations at the end) are html links to the articles being referenced and in which you can embed things like graphs and tables in the same way (perhaps even allowing you to hover over or right click on a link to have it pop up within the current window in a sub window.)

    2) convert all old journal articles into the new format and archive them

    3) partner with current journals so that it is possible to click on a link to a reference inside a journal in the new format and be able to purchase the referenced journal immediately and easily. And preferably cheaper than the $40 most journals currently charge.

    4) enjoy researching rather than dread it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It seems simple and important to offer an option in Google Alerts to draw results from Google Scholar.

  41. I've a suggestion for Google translate tool. Currently when you navigate to the translate tool for the first time, in the dropdown list of language pairs, the last pair is selected by default i.e. Spanish to English. My suggestion would be to make it more logical by getting the country of origin from IP of the user and language pair should be that country to English. E.g. if a guy is in France, the default choice for language pair should be French to English.

Also there should be facility to configure this pair by default. Currently Google doesn't offer this kind of facility.

    Thanks

  43. RE: Google Maps for BlackBerry

Having a NORTH UP or a TRACK UP option would be very nice to have.

Add the ability to See Longitude/Latitude readouts for current location

Add ability to see how Google Maps for BlackBerry triangulates your position (IE: What cell towers it sees, or the raw data from the GPS Satellites)..

I am a programmer and would like to see this "Technical Stuff", or at least have the ability to see it.

  44. I use igoogle as default home in IE. Its load time is too slow because igoogle
tries to popup all gadgets simultaneously, but for most of times what I want to
    do there is just searching.

It could be better to show search box before trying to show gadgets.

  45. If Google really wanted to "blow away" its completion (if any is left) it could take on the giants like Westlaw and Lexis to offer searches on statute and case law, now neatly wrapped up and unavailable to the general public and even to many lawyers. Even if the questionable ownership of legal court cases reports can't be broken by some really good lawyers, certainly Westlaw could be purchased.

  46. I have an idea to add tool for muslims to identify the direction to Mecca from any place in the world throu choosing a special place holder and then google earth draw a line show the direction to Mecca.
the place holder for Mecca is
    altitude : 21°25'21.09"N
    longitude : 39°49'34.33"E
this will be ultimate useful for all muslims around the world bleave me

  47. I was just blown away, BLOWN AWAY by the genius of the new 'street view' feature on google maps. AWESOME. Plus, it's so elegant and brilliantly functional. It makes my mind race with what could possible come next. You can spend hours sightseeing, costs you nothing for gas, don't get tired.
You can look up, to the side, my god, the people who designed this and put it all together are geniuses.
I wonder if they could possible make a USB device, that's like goggles, with two screens over each eye, with nintendo like motion sensors, so the screen rotates as it senses your head moving, the way the nintendo controllers do, so it's like you're actually, REALLY there, in stereo vision even, man that would be a hell of a technical feat, but maybe not so impossible, i know stereophotography has been around for a long time, I used those little glasses to read stereomaps and it looked pretty realisticly 3-D even with those simple little glasses and stereomaps, which are nothing but two pictures laid over one another.

But StreetView is AWESOME google, congratulations. Google is some sort of creation of the angels.

  48. PROBLEM: When I am searching for images in google I have to scroll to the bottom and click next or one of the numbers (or an "O" in GOOOOGLE) to see the next page of pictures.

SOLUTION: Place all that stuff at the top of the page, so I can click without scrolling down to the bottom. Microsoft never quite got the concept to limit mouse movements. Each new selection should be available in a tight circle within the immediate screen real estate, not at the extreme end.

REASONING: I can see all the images on my screen already, so I don't need to scroll to the bottom to determine if the image I want is within the page I'm viewing. Some images load bigger and some smaller so the clicky space at the bottom is constantly changing lower or higher. By placing the selection numbers at the top you don't need to repeat the selection box at both top and bottom of the screen and the selection area don't move I can just click on next all day long without moving my mouse.

  50. my suggestion is about google maps, if there could be a option where you can check the distance between any two palces and also see the same route highlighted in the google map, with all the important places (like temples, gas stations, rest rooms, hospitals) on the route being highlighted too.

  53. HI, My name is Sergio, I'm form New York city.
well, Yesterday I was navigating through GOOGLE EARTH and then I had an Idea. How about this.
So, who ever is online at the google earth could communicate with each other on chat or something like it, so while you navigating through, let's say, Germany, you could also see who's online and could interact with those folks over there.
Also would be cool to have more videos from different cities, which would allow you to see it as you go through...

  54. gLinux

Yes, supply users with gLinux for those not to happy with Vista. Put gtalk, gmail, Google earth, the 9 yards. Include OpenOffice, a Java VM and even options to support developers such as the gcc/gtk+ and of course Google APIs you might like to include. FireFox 3 of course. Support Evolution with PGP...for the enlightened.

gLinux being Google Linux of course. Maybe even put Earth in as the screen saver!

Ambitious I know. But if anyone can kick Microsoft Google can!!!

Hell, I want to buy it already.

    No patents pending.

  57. Does anyone know whether Google has plans to offer a legal search engine to compete with Lexis and Westlaw? These two search engines dominate the legal community in the US, charge outrageous fees, provide sluggish performance, and have counterintuitive and inefficient search procedures. Since Google is so good at making better mousetraps, I really wish they'd take a stab at making a better legal search engine. Even if it did not have all the bells and whistles of Lexis or Westlaw, it would be great to have a free search for basic inquiries.

  62. Why can't we have a google audio search function? Sometimes you're searching for a particular audio clip which you know is out there and you can't find it because it's hidden in all the other stuff.

It's actually non-copyright stuff that is the most frustrating... because you know it's entitled to be up there... and someone has put it up there... but it's not coming up in a search.

If you search enough sub-pages you might eventually find it.

Breaking it down into various types of audio might also be useful: .wav, mp3, etc...

    :-)

Its not always practical to be specific enough on version numbers to narrow this down with Google's existing search algorithm. OMG I hope someone reads this. HELP!

  65. Google Maps should have a setting where people can look up a starting zip code and an ending zip code, and a time, to find custom maps people suggest for cutting traffic. A lot of people have well tailored ways for cutting their drive time; combinations of freeway, surface streets and back roads. Why not suggest your favorite ways to-and-fro during busy hours?

  69. It would be great if you incorporated ridesharing (like craigslist-rideshare) into Google Maps. Perhaps when someone looks up driving directions there can be an option to "Request a ride" or "Offer a ride". The combination of internet+high gas prices could mean that spontaneous ridesharing really takes off in the next decade.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Can't find anywhere else to put this so: how about a 'random page' button from the search front screen - just plucks a page from anywhere in the internet and dumps you there. (Possibly filtered by language and no-porn, etc)

    ReplyDelete
  71. I like the "My Maps" feature in Google maps, and the ability modify a route by dragging the route. It would be great to be able to get directions and also show the locations in a "my maps". Here is one use.

    Vacation planning:
    1) Create a personal map of places to see
    2) Start at home
    3) Then add the furthest destination
    4) Drag to the road to points on my maps
    5) change the final destination to home

  72. I would like to be able to search for any pages containing certain equations or mathematical symbols embedded inside html or pdf or ps files.

Currently the only sort of formulas search engines can find are basic ones like:

    "y = ax + b"

But what if an equation of post-secondary school level was being sought such as Schroedinger's equation?

I think it would be useful to be able to specify to search engines equations being sought, using possibly tex notation, or something else.

  73. hey google team, I think it would be a good idea to have a program called 'Google money veins of the world' kinda like google maps but one that shows where the money is in the world , try it out and see if it sticks like all the other stuff you guys do. It would be interesting to see where the wealth is in the world- a visual representation- and where it is concentrated. it would allow university students to study better the world and come up with new ideas for solutions.

    ReplyDelete
  74. In Google Maps, I'd love to see a "walking" or "Bicycle" feature when searching directions, cause then a person doesnt always have to follow the direction of traffic. It'd make things way more simple in city situations.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think the bycycle route is an awesome idea, I would like to see this direct route type of mapping as well. Good idea!

    ReplyDelete
  76. In Google Maps, when you zoom in to an area that does not have a good resolution it stops displaying the images at the previous resolution. I realize you can't improve the resolution, but it would be better to blow up the existing imagery to the new zoom level than to remove it completely.

  77. How about Googleverse - A mud/mmo for the rest of us. God knows you've got the intensive server part down. This would probably be the first Google service I would be willing to directly pay for.

  78. On GoogleMaps, what if as an addition to the Map, satellite, terrain tabs you could have one for subway lines?

For example, I don't know the subway system too well in NYC but I'm trying to find apartments off of a certain line. Given an address I still have no idea how close it is to that line off of googlemaps and have to go off-site to find its proximity. Could there be an abstraction or a referral to the subway map so you could compare on the same page?

Or maybe an overlay instead, highlighting the lines on the existing map so you can tell how each metro station connects.

  80. Dear Google management,

Today every man from a school boy to old man is facing a lot of personal problems, they can not ask their friends or relatives for suggestions due to fear or shyness or prestage. If you start a new web service that gives solutions to every problem/difficulty/trouble/sorrow from a list of professionals consisting of doctors, lawyers, teachers,Phcologists, buisiness man,students,youth,police..etc..or public then that would be very nice to solve their problems. i.e, what i mean to say is ,
1.Start a service with a group of professionals to give the better solution depending on the sevirity of the problems.
2.Low sevirity problems can be resolved by any people.
i.e ,We can not find a possible solution for our own problems due to out narrow mindset, narrow thinking about our own problem, but other people can easily analyze our problem and can give a possible good solution due to their broad mind about others problem.
So try to start a new web service " ASKGURU.com " for finding solutions for every body .so it will be a great guru, teacher for all the people to get solutions to their problems.

But the website should be on free service, so it can be get a GREAT DEMAND from PUBLIC of all ages.

    Thanks and Regards

  81. HEY GOOGLE: ADD DOPPLER RADAR TO YOUR SEARCH!! IMAGINE TYPING "DOPPLER RADAAR [ZIP CODE]" and then SEEING a RADAR POP UP! EFFIN AWESOME

    ReplyDelete
  82. For Google Maps, add information overlays. Such as national cancer statistics, voting patterns, median income, crime rates, etc. It would be a great tie-in with your Street View info. We are a visual species and take in information much better when presented this way.

The idea Matt has of live doppler radar is great! Perhaps you could open up the api to allow others to produce the overlays. Such as radio station/program coverage. Other things like archaeological sites too; whatever.

I love Google Maps and use it for my delivery crew every day. I just see that it can be so much more.

  85. I think a great feature for the google search page should highlight the keywords you've entered after clicking a link returned from the search.

A simple example would be: I search for "Perl wxID_Exit" After clicking one of the listings from the search, the page is displayed with the words: Perl and/or wxID_Exit heighlighted.

  86. Google maps has multiple view options: map, satellite, traffic, terrain (topo), photos, wikipedia, but how about adding realtime weather like the interactive map at www.weather.com? If would be helpful to see what weather is forecasted, or just the red color of heavy storms, laid over the driving route.

    Sorta like this: http://www.weather.com/outlook/driving/interstate/map/interactive/17201?from=36hr_maps&zoom=8&interactiveMapLayer=radar

  88. A fantastic addition to Google apps and news feeds would be an up to the minute schedule and report of the legislative actions of our public officials.

I would like to know who voted for what and when rather than having to navigate through house.gov or senate.gov

it would revolutionize our ability to know what our elected officials really stand for.
Elected Officials could even have strictly fact based profiles, etc.

    there's my 2.. uh, 11 cents.

  89. My suggestion is for google reader.

Why not include functionality to jump to specific days in a feed OR, better yet, allow for an option which hides the already read posts.

Sometimes I go a month or two before catching up with a particular blog. And sometimes, especially in the case of the NYT front page, this cannot be done in one sitting... and getting back to where I left off can take 10 minutes of scrolling through the posts I've already read!

    Thanks,

    Dave

  93. Personal Blacklist for web searches

Just a quick suggestion, probably not original.
I would like to store in my cookie or somewhere that I don't what to get results from specific domains, ever. For example, looking for programming stuff I always get results from experts-exchange, but it is paid content, I should be able to remove them from the results. It is ok in the right side.
Should be fairly easy, if not already in place (I know about the advanced search, so it is just having those limits appended automatically).

  99. Google has done superior work with almost everything it touches turns to gold. Among my favorites is GrandCentral, which google has recently acquired.

My attention now turns to online book keeping. There are several companies out there that do this. Wesabe, Mint, and others http://www.tradevibes.com/company/profile/wesabe/competitors
I currently use Wesabe, a free service, what I particularly like about it, as opposed to mint is that Mint assumes 100% trust, as it asks for your bank account # and password, that's a lot to ask from anyone, were wesabe requires that I upload my bank account manually (trust issues).

These web applications I think could be developed a lot more, and I would recommend that Google spearhead a similar project, either from scratch or by acquisition. And expand it more. There is still a lot of room to grow.

For example, if you do a search for, say, appliances, and some of the results come back as appliance manufacturers and not a place you can buy appliances, I'd like to get rid of that suggestion so I can continue looking at the map with only the places I can can actually buy them.

  108. Suggestion for Google Earth: I'd like to see (Panoramio) image density at all levels. Why: if a location has lots of images, chances are there is something interesting to see there!

it would be great if there was a check option on the front page where i could select clothing/shoe size i'm looking for, a color i'm looking for and select men/women/child categories. maybe brand or store.

This way if you have a personal or even vaguely embarassing question or comment to make not everyone can see the comment on the blog. Also it would be nice if on a blogger's profile there was an icon of some sort to show that the blogger is signed in at the moment or at least saying the last time that the blogger signed in. This would help with the private messages immensely. I assure you that these features would most likely make Blogger and Google, as a whole, much more popular.

I would envision it involving some kind of credential that is verified as belonging to that jurisdiction but then an engineer or other representative can mark a route that is closed so that people who aren't familiar with the area can plan a workable route before they encounter a massive delay or closure and possibly become lost as a result.

  136. I'm extremely frustrated by the inaccuracy of Google Traffic, compared to Sigalert.com. As a regular user of Sigalert.com, I find it very accurate for traffic info. In contrast, Google Traffic never matches Sigalert.com, and the driving experience always matches Sigalert.com. One of the main reasons I just got an iphone is to be able to check traffic on the go with the Google Maps/Traffic app, since it's much quicker (and more reliable) than having to surf the net for Sigalert.com. But Google Traffic is useless if it's not accurate. Not sure why this is, since I would think the traffic data all comes from the same source. I've been searching on the net, and have seen others comment about this too.... Please fix this app! Thanks.

Yes,I think google can certainly improve it's busines by adding more services/products to its e- mail service like,
When an e-mail is sent, the recipient should not only be able to open the e-mail and read the document by him self but he must be able to hear the document orally by just pressing a GUI provided (button).
There must be a facility for back ground music in an e-mail.
There must be facility to record a very short voice message along with e-mail sent.

Users could add questions and vote to remove questions. The primary goal of such a google service would be to improve mankind while making money through advertisements. For example, a poll could be established for many diseases. By looking at the statistics of questions answered, researchers could narrow the search for the cause. Also, researchers could add questions deemed needed. Any polling subject of interest could be created by google users around the world. I think that Google company is interfering in everything
    Web browser
    Operating system
    pda operating system
    .....
But google and until now is not getting into the 3d gaming world
I think (and i am not responsible for those ideas) that we need a new strategy game that is highly 3d dimensional and involves reality, and that is just like command and conquer generals, but involves China, Russia, Iran, and USA. We are at a time in which financial crisis danger is increasing, and many think that this may lead to World War III, so I think it would be a great idea if Google made its first 3d strategy game, I think this would be excellent especially if it involved story line, and skirmish, and i think that google has the financial power, and the ability to make a one that has graphics that are even higher than crises.

  179. Hey, I'd just like to throw out a suggestion for Chrome:

Why not have the user log directly into Chrome with their Google Account? That way all Google services will be available by the click of a button. The real benefit of this would be to store bookmarks server-side, so that users can have access to their favourite websites, simply by using Chrome, in any location. If this were to occur, exporting these bookmarks would be a convenient feature.

  180. There was a link on google maps just a couple of days ago that said "Street View". Today it's gone! Please! Put it back! It works a lot better than trying to drag that little yellow guy onto the map. He never lands where you think he's going to go!!
    Please!

  181. Know what I like best about iGoogle? No "noise". It's "quiet". I don't have to put up with flashing, bouncing, bobbing, weaving, unwanted video, unwanted voice, popups, popunders, popthroughs, popanthings, etc. iGoogle lets you do your work and just leaves you alone. Love it...

  183. In google tasks, I would like to be able to share lists with other members of my work so that we can have group "to do" lists. If you implemented this, it would be nice if in the "details" section you could see who has made changes.

  184. When searching Google, or something like Google Images, it would be nice to have a key that would function as 'next page', rather than having to click next. This way, the mouse would not need to be moved apart from the scroll wheel, and it would be faster to search multiple pages.

  185. It would be nice if there was an option to make the google toolbar bigger. My dad is approaching 80 years of age and has a hard time typing in the seach box.

  186. I think u guys really need to work a lot as gmail and orkut are pathetically slow even on 512 kbps and 1mbps internet connections that too all time. I really sad with this and this has made me shift to other options.

  187. Ok, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or what. But here it goes:

For Google Chrome, you should look a little bit more into a web browser called Maxthon (or MYIE2). It is a discontinued web browser that runs on IE. However, it has really nice features.

One of the nice features that Maxthon has and that I would also like to see in Google is that it has a button to open the last 10 pages I visited (one by one of course). It's really annoying when I close a website and I forgot to check something and to re-open it I have to go and look for it's address again. It would be much easier to do this with just a button.

Another feature I would like to see is that I could scroll through the tabs with the mousewheel. That would be excellent.

And maybe the best feature of Maxthon that I would like to see in Chrome is that it opens links by just dragging the link. That is, you click and drag a link and it just opens it in another tab.

    That's all. Thanks!

  188. First of all, I have to admit that Google Chrome is far the best browser I have used since now. The only feature I really miss is to be able to share the same bookmarks among different PCs (sort of integrated Google-Bookmarks). Since I started to use Gmail as my default account, I began to appreciate this gradual shift to on-line applications, so now to me it's quite normal to be able to access to my personally customized services from wherever I am.
I really wish that Google Chrome could stick to the same philosophy and could provide a way to have the "same browser" on any PC I am using.

Thanks you to all the Google stuff for your great efforts!

    Regards

  189. Google search isn't what it was a few years ago. I searched for "Giro sunglasses". This is a major manufacturer in the athletic market. The company didn't make the first 3 pages. Only resellers sites appeared. If google continues to rank resellers higher or let them "bribe up" they will be blown out by competetors when their patent expires.
Do no harm. Be the best. I'm rooting for you, but losing confidence.

  193. It would be great if Google Translate had an option to Click a SPANISH tab for "english computers" so that a button list would appear that has all of the letters that are not in the english language. For example, one could click a button to get and accented "e" right on the site so that it is quick to add to the spanish text that you are typing on the computer that you want to translate to english. CONVIENCE IS KEY. This would save me a lot of time and want to only use google translate.

  194. My suggestion seems pretty simple, to me.

My home page is the Google News page. Often when I am there, I enter a term in the google search box where I want to do a search on the whole web, not just the news page. Then I hit the first button to the right, "search google news" (or whatever it says) and not the button to the far right "search the web" (which I wanted to hit). I get the results on the news page, which of course are almost never what I am looking for. I would like a button on the news page that says basically "no, I meant to search the web, search again"
Anyhow, you would think I would learn to hit the correct button, but I never do.
    Thanks.

  195. Google Docs is one of my all time FAVORITE things in the world. To simultaneously edit something saves me loads of time on school projects. But, when doing this, i often wish that when i clicked on where it says who else is editing the doc, i could have an IM conversation. Something similar to the facebook IM would be fantastic.

    Thanks!

  197. Please add an option to the toolbar's 'find' feature that allows it to work like it did in the older versions of google toolbar. Typing words in the search field would automatically show up as buttons in the toolbar. The new feature of displaying the 'find' field at the bottom is not synchronized with the search field and this makes it more difficult to find information when searching multiple subjects. A compromise is to keep the new 'find' bar, but it should always be displayed and sychronized with the search field.

  198. Bookmarks: Add a feature to that allows us to edit the link (website address) itself.

    e.g.

  199. Bookmarks: Subfolder (or sublabel) structure is needed. My bookmarks are cluttered under one label per general grouping, but a sublabel system would refined each group into a subgroup.

    e.g.
Vendors - Mechanical: list of websites
Vendors - Optical: list of websites
Vendors - Office: list of websites

could be combined as a system of sublabels

    Vendors
    -- Mechanical: list of websites
    -- Optical: list of websites
    -- Office: list of websites
