The new Google Profiles interface lets you upload multiple profile photos and switch between them with a simple click. Visitors can see all the photos you've uploaded, so you must be careful when you replace a profile photo. It's not enough to click "change photo" and upload the new image: you should also click on the image and delete the previous profile photo.
Profile photos are stored in a Picasa Web album, just like the photos from the Scrapbook section. The main difference is that profile photos can be cropped or edited in Picnik.
If you already have a Google Profile, it's a good idea to upload a new profile photo. The new interface uses bigger photos, so your old avatar looks pixelated.

I've been thinking about the Google profile service. It's a great that Google has finally climbed on the social network bandwagon, however, I wish they directly integrated with FaceBook.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you guys think? Isn't it time we "Normalize" the social network experience?
You are dreaming ;-)
ReplyDeletewe...e...e...e new fitur any more...hohoho
ReplyDeleteawesome go go go google \m/
Awsome some new avatar...
ReplyDeletePicasa heard about but count understand it better off with flickr...
thank share sir
ReplyDeleteAgree with Levis. All social platforms should be able to collaborate to some level. That way we don't need to move to another network just because all our friends are there.
ReplyDeleteprofile not work.

@Ashutosh Raghuwanshi : Your world is named Utopia unfortunately ;(.
ReplyDelete@Bob, that's what my dad was told before computers became a hit...guess what i'm using now.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, a Google/Facebook partnership would change the way we network.
Think about it.
Thanks for the post, its kinda like facebook i guess!
ReplyDeleteThis is cool option Google has added and really i liked this. By uploading image we can better know our online friends.
ReplyDeleteIf you are already using Picasa Web Albums that is linked to your Google Profile, uploading a new profile photo will add a new PUBLIC web album that contains the profile photo in original upload size. The people who are following you in Picasa Web Albums will get a notification and they can comment and "like" your profile photo. Some users might welcome that. For me it is a nuisance. My profile photos ALBUM doesn't have to be public, but you can't turn off that new "feature."
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree - I would definitely like the Profile and Scrapbook albums to be unlisted. It's a complete pain now, and it messes up my otherwise perfectly organised album list. Also, updating your profile picture in the new profiles seems to break your Gmail picture in chat...
ReplyDeletei definitely don't want to see Goolge/FB integration of any kind
ReplyDeleteI don't see an option to delete profile photos. How can I do this?
ReplyDeleteIn gmail(gtalk) is possible to upload a picture of a friend. That picture is visible only to me and is only for my convenience.
ReplyDeleteA similar feature should be implemented in Google+
