Google Music's source code includes a few references to some new features. There's a Music Labs page that will probably include new ways to organize and visualize your songs. "Google Play music player labs is a testing ground for experimental features that aren't quite ready for primetime. They may change, break, or disappear at any time." For now, this section is empty.
Right now, you can only upload songs using the Music Manager software, but that may change in the future. There's a new page for uploading music.
Another new section called "history" could show a list of songs you've recently played.
Google Music could also add a roulette view and some charts for visualizing how often you play certain songs.

US only...zzz -____-"
ReplyDeleteUse a US proxy once to sign up and you can use it anywhere. I live in the UK and I use it daily
DeleteIs it illegal to use a US based proxy server in this way? How can I find such a proxy?
DeleteWhy would it be illegal? You may break Google Music's terms of use (I'm not sure about that), but you're only streaming the music you've uploaded. That's like uploading some files to Google Docs and using a browser to open them.
DeleteWhy then is Google only offering this service within the USA? It's very annoying for the rest of us.
DeleteAs far as I can tell, there's nothing in the Google Play Terms of Service that prohibits access from a non-US country via a proxy server. http://play.google.com/about/terms.html
DeleteActually, you're breaking the terms of use if you use Google Music outside US.
Delete"The Music Services and Music Content are currently available only to residents of the United States. You agree that you will not present any false, inaccurate or misleading information in an effort to misrepresent yourself as a resident of the United States, and you will not attempt to circumvent any restrictions on access to or availability of the Music Services or Music Content."
That clause does not stop US residents using Google Play while they are outside the United States. But taken literally, it would prohibit a non-US resident using it while they are actually IN the United States. I don't understand why they have this silly geographical restriction, particularly from a company that has done so much to break down international boundaries in the past.
DeleteIt's because of content restrictions in most other countries. Google is working on it as fast as possible, you can rest assured of that, they do want your money.
DeleteNice, but Last.fm scrobbling is still to hard for Google...
ReplyDeleteUse this extension in Chrome.
DeleteI just want this to be available in Spain as soon as possible.. :-(
ReplyDeleteLove Google Music. :) Hope these features make it out soon.
ReplyDeleteOn that note, it's kinda lame you can only download a song twice from the web interface. I mean, it's my music Google.
I'm sure that most of the limitations from Google Music are requested by music labels. Since you've uploaded the songs, you should be able to download them as many times you want, listen to them from multiple devices at the same time and maybe even share them with your friends.
DeletePlease add the first letter of the surname of the submitter, so that not everyone assumes it was me :D
ReplyDeleteBecause it isn't me :P
I love Google Music too! I just wish they would integrate podcasts into the system, seems like a no brainer and would make Play Music a serious competitor to iTunes.
ReplyDelete+1 for the podcast reader!!
DeleteWe should have a "Playing Now" playlist, so we could add musics to the queue.
ReplyDeleteBut more than that, I want Music to be available worldwide.
Please enable when you add a song to a playlist that it doesn't automatically appear at the bottom of the playlist. Dragging it to the top in its current incarnation is tedious!
ReplyDeleteOK, great suggestion, we will be adding that feature to the next release.
DeleteGoogle may have its own reasons why this facility is legal only in the United State. We expect in the future will prevail throughout in the world :)
ReplyDeleteBlog is FREE. Why should a small problem to be fuss!
Xixixi ;)
Very nice great!
ReplyDeleteGoogle, you are search king, so please create Intelligent playlist (playlist by artist, by genere, by year...)
ReplyDeleteAlex, did you know that there is music streaming limit in Google music!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.droid-life.com/2012/03/21/have-your-reached-a-streaming-limit-in-google-music-yet/
Dude, you need to be more thorough... you can already upload artwork.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering why the youtube viral video alert system would be called an insurance for a company's reputation. Then I realized that it was a good way to see what others were saying about you on youtube. Many people now are able to post videos that promote or criticize a brand, and brand conscious companies should do their best to track what others are saying. From there, they can either take the video down or post a reply video in response.html5 video player
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy if Google Music uploading actually worked. It's far too flaky for me to use

ReplyDeleteI really hope this new uploading page lets me upload mp3s or multiple ones at a time. So much easier than music manager!
ReplyDeleteThat is good development. I hope many will participate in it.
ReplyDeleteGreat so nice post very great!
ReplyDeletePlay is now up and running in Australia.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it seems like that uploading version on the Android app is uploading wrong, and won't play right. I need a way to re-upload a song when this happens....it would be better than google just trying to play it, getting to a certain point in the song, and then skipping to the next.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Google Music create a community where I can see what my friends are listening too.
