Google Tests a New Navigation Bar

Google tests a tweaked user interface for the navigation bar. The experiment removes link underlining, changes the background color when you mouse over a link from the navigation bar and adds an icon for the settings menu.

    I think the top navigation bar is here to stay. It saves you a click when the link you're looking for is hidden under the "more" option in the sidebar and it gives you access to other Google services like Gmail which are not related to search. Plus the sidebar isn't even there on the Google homepage. It may be redundant for some, but it certainly doesn't distract.

    Wish they would let us do some customization of the navigation bar. I use Google bookmarks a lot. I guess it is not a popular service and will never be on my navigation bar by default, so let me add it.

    I'd like it to be tabbed and customizable. I use way too many Google services that right now I practically haft to dedicate an entire browser window to Google.

    I don't really care where it is, just make it CUSTOMIZABLE (which items to show, which to be accessed via dropdown menu)
