YouTube added more features to the "plus" button displayed when you mouse over a video thumbnail. Until now, the button could only be used to add videos to a queue, so you can play them later. If you click on the small arrow next to the button, you can add the video to your favorites or to one of your playlists. It's much easier to build playlists from search results and from related videos.
Another change is that the "save to" drop-down has been replaced with a button that adds the video you're currently watching to the queue. Click on the arrow next to the button and you can add the video to a playlist.
When you add a video to the queue, YouTube shows a small bar that lets you manage the videos from the queue, save them as a new playlist, disable autoplay or load one of your playlists.

I hope their queue works better with this change. At least until the last change, their quicklist/queue is so easily broken, e.g., if you can't easily skip the current item and go to the next one.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know if I'd call that a "small bar", Alex :-) I think it's actually bigger, in height, than the previous version of the playlist bar, the one people were up in arms over because it was so intrusive.
ReplyDeleteI do like the new add to queue option, 'cause before, after adding videos to a queue, you'd have to go to Favorites and then click on Queue.
Still not solves the problem. That's why I created http://ListAndPlay.com during the last 4 days.

Google->Youtube->BOTNET is dictating our online behaviour. Everything gets easier because all they're trying to do is to keep us on Youtube longer -> more money from advertising.
ReplyDeleteThese changes aren't made in order to make our lifes easier but to increase their profits. A small change like this could net them tens of thousands of dollars more per day.
Am I the only one worried about the fact that our children won't even know what street games are anymore?
that changed it so it only adds to watch latter change it back
ReplyDeleteOh goddammit Google, why cripple this again? Now I can only add to the "watch later" list, which is now full (200 videos max). I wanted to add to another list, which worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago.
