If you'd like to have a Google Start Menu, (the unofficial) GUtil for Firefox could help you a little. The extensions adds on your navigation toolbar a big list of Google services. Instead of trying to find the name of the service in the list, you can just type the first letters from the name (typing "r" opens Google Reader).
The list is customizable, and might be a good way to open a certain Google site, instead of going to another page that contains the list.

GButts is much better. You can find them here.

Yep GButts is, cheers for that, didn't know and now installed.;)
ReplyDeleteSilly me. I just use https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount and prefer it that way.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think this is a TON better than GButts. Just my opinion. But, I don't use either of these. I actually ctrl-d to the navigation bar, and actually TYPE IN BLOGGER.COM!!! Shocking, I know.
ReplyDeleteI also like to type addresses, but I know there are many people who want an easier way to access Google services. Even Google Toolbar is not extremely helpful.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that it's a matter of preferring one method over the other. I like having both access methods accessible : toolbar when I'm using the mouse, and address / search bar for when my hands are on the keyboard.
