Blogger Is Out Of Beta

Blogger Beta is no longer a beta. Now it's called the new Blogger.

While not everyone can migrate to the new version (large blogs should wait a little bit more), Blogger is feature-complete and doesn't have major bugs.

"The new version of Blogger is metaphorically bursting with features, from the big guns like drag-and-drop template editing and post labels (...), to little polishes like a better-designed Dashboard or that you no longer need to solve a word verification CAPTCHA to post a comment on your own blog."

Hopefully, the Blogger team (or what's left from Blogger) will also add basic features like: comment spam detection, no separate page for posting comments, photo management.

But for the moment I'm happy: if you change the title of a post, the URL remains the same. In case you've seen a 404 error here, this must have been the cause.

  2. And, the new link is www2.blogger.com while the old one is www.blogger.com.

Any idea for how much more time will the old templates still be supported ?

  3. The way you talk, it seems like the old blogger made you decipher those captchas to post. That would happen only if your blog was flagged. You could always ask for a review and it would be unblocked.

  4. No, Anonymous. I'm the author of this blog and I have to enter a captcha everytime I post a comment on MY OWN blog. This doesn't happen in the new blogger.

You're talking about having to enter captchas when you create posts. That's something else.

  5. The editor here :)

Go to your dashboard and look for a migration link.

If you can't find it, sign out of Blogger, and see if you can find a "Switch now" button on Blogger's homepage.

    Also, this link might work.

If everything fails, you'll just have to be patient.

  6. I don't know if my blog (http://flavoroflove.blogspot.com) is considered large or not but I've been waiting over two hours for the switch to complete and as a consequence no one can comment on the blog.

What the heck is taking so long
